The Lovelock Police Department is
made up of One Chief, one Sergeant, one Corporal and two Patrolman, together
they provide 24 hour patrol of the City of Lovelock.
Chief Mancebo was appointed on
January 25, 1999. He was 30 years old at the time of his appointment and was
the youngest Police Chief in Nevada. Prior to becoming the Chief of Police,
Chief Mancebo was with the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office. Chief Mancebo
spent 7 years with the Sheriff’s Office where he was a Sergeant and K-9
handler. Chief Mancebo and his partner Buster continued to work as a Narcotics
Detection Team when they came to the City.
Sergeant Machado has been with
the Lovelock Police Department for over 25 years. In his tenure Sgt Machado has
seen almost everything that could happen in Lovelock. He serves as the Range
master and Firearms instructor. Cpl. Mancebo has been with the
Lovelock Police Department for over 15 years. He is a life long resident of
Lovelock and is a graduate from Pershing County High School. Cpl Mancebo’s
ambition and drive to keep our community safe make him an important asset to
this department. Officer
Lanier has been with the Lovelock Police Department since 1998. Officer Lanier
retired with 21 years of service from Prince George's County Police Department
in Maryland as a Crime Scene Investigator. Officer Lanier is also our training
coordinator. Officer
Evans has been in Lovelock since 1999 starting with the Pershing County
Sheriff's Office. Officer Evans took a special assignment on the TRIDENT
Narcotics Task Force. After his assignment to the Task Force ended Officer
Evans came to the police department full time. Officer Evans has also been
assigned as the departments TASER instructor. Laura has
been with the City of Lovelock since 1996. She transferred full time to this
department in 2002. Laura is responsible for everything from warrant entry and
case filing to evidence management and drug court. Her most valuable asset is
her ability to deal with whatever situation the Officers throw at her.
The Lovelock Police Department would like to announce the introduction of the
KID
PRINT
Child Identification System. This system creates a credit card type
identification card for your child, which shows in an instant your child’s
picture, name, height, weight, eye and hair color, date of birth, who the parent
or guardian is and on the back the right thumbprint. This information can be
invaluable if your son or daughter is missing as time is of the essence in
locating them. The
KID
PRINT
system was obtained through
a grant from the Nevada Department of Public Safety/Criminal Justice Assistance
and the ID cards will be provided to the public at no charge. The information
you provide to the Police Department will create an ID card for you to keep and
will be maintained in a non-criminal data base with your child’s vital
information in it for use in case of an emergency. If
you have any questions or concerns regarding this new program, please feel free
to contact my office at any time. I would also like to thank you for your help
in keeping the children in our community safe. Sincerely, Michael J.
